Hong Kong and Taiwan Cargo Fuel Surcharge

Changes in fuel prices create fluctuating costs for the transport industry. As a result, a fuel surcharge (FSC) fee is added to compensate for higher fuel costs.

Effective April 1, 2017, the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department (CAD) will levy a FSC on all shipments from Hong Kong (HKG):

HK$ 0.20/kg short haul
HK$ 0.70/kg long haul

A FSC on shipments from Taiwan also went into effect earlier this month, this amount varies by airline.

The cargo FSC is based on chargeable weight and fluctuates based on fuel costs. In line with standard industry practice, the FSC will be invoiced with airline charges. For more information, please contact your local FedEx Trade Networks Transport & Brokerage office.
