G20 Hamburg Summit - Logistics Impact
Due to the large number of high-ranking attendees and increased security measures for the G20 Summit 2017 in Hamburg, Germany on July 7–8, 2017, logistics delays are anticipated and are expected to affect the harbor and port areas of Hamburg. In addition, a secure zone will be established around the Hamburg Trade Fair site.
The city is expecting heads of state from 19 countries, approximately 6,000 delegation members, 3,000 journalists and 15,000 police officers to assist with security. As a result of these extensive preparations, the event is expected to impact import shipments to Hamburg and possible loading delays at the terminal.
