5th Round of Product Exclusions for Section 301 Tariffs
On June 4, 2019, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced in the Federal Register its 5th round of selected product exclusions under Section 301 tranche 1 tariffs levied on certain products from China, as enumerated in the annex of the notice. See USTR Notice of Product Exclusions. Importers will no longer have to pay an additional 25 percent duty on these specified products.
The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) added tariff subheading 9903.88.10 to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) for importers to apply these new exclusions. The exclusions are retroactive back to the July 6, 2018, effective date for Section 301, Tranche 1 tariffs.
For reference, below is a complete list of exclusions issued under Section 301, Tranche 1.
More information can be found at CBP – Section 301 HTSUS Reference Guide.
