USTR Announces Additional Product Exclusions for Section 301, China Trade Action
On September 20, 2019, and October 2, 2019, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced in the Federal Register (FR) additional rounds of tariff exclusions for certain products from China under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974. Importers will no longer have to pay additional duties on specified products.
The new product exclusions are conditional, available for any product that meets the description as set out in the annexes of the FR Notices, and are retroactive back to their respective effective dates. This is regardless of whether the importer filed an exclusion request.
