On October 24, 2019, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced in the Federal Register (FR) the procedures to request exclusions from additional duties pursuant to Section 301, Tranche 4, Annex A, China Trade Remedies, which were announced on August 20, 2019. As of October 31, 2019, importers or other interested parties can submit their exclusion requests via the USTR Exclusions Portal.
The deadline for submitting exclusion requests for Section 301, Tranche 4, Annex A, China Trade Remedies is January 31, 2020 at 11:59PM EST.
Once a requester’s exclusion request is posted to the portal, any interested parties that oppose or support the request can post replies or comments providing reasons for their viewpoint for up to 14 days from date of posting. The original requester is afforded time to respond to any replies or comments from such interested parties. For more details, review FR notice 84 FR 57146.
